Laura Morlok serves as our Director of Psychotherapy. Laura is a Play Therapist and Licensed Counselor who is consistently able to promote positive change with her clients because of her commitment to making personal connections and providing individualized care. Clients benefit from Laura’s specialization in Play Therapy and experience with a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches and techniques. As Director of our psychotherapy division, Laura uses her expertise to select the best psychotherapist for each client and family.

Laura collaborates with clients who may be experiencing various challenges, such as low self-esteem, anxiety, school-related stress, depression, anger, limited social skills, separation/divorce, grief/loss, trauma, disorganization, communication concerns, and behavior management difficulties. Clients have the opportunity to create a treatment plan that targets their primary concerns and to allow collaboration with other key providers, such as psychiatrists, teachers, school counselors, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. If you are a parent whose child is working with Laura, you can count on being an active part of your child’s therapy, both in session and at home.
Credentials & Background
Laura Morlok is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland, as well as a Board Approved Supervisor, and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Laura earned both her Master of Science in Counseling and Certificate in Play Therapy from The Johns Hopkins University in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from Loyola University, Maryland.
Laura has been in private practice since 2010. She has also worked at a local hospital where she provided individual, group and family therapy to adolescents enrolled in the Partial Hospitalization Program as well as child, adolescent and adults within the psychiatric inpatient units. Laura’s extensive experience with a wide range of diagnoses and treatment modalities helps inform her outpatient practices.
Laura is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Play Therapy and the Maryland Counseling Association.

When not practicing therapy, Laura finds herself hanging out with her husband and their “zoo” – two cats (Allegra and Luna) and two guinea pigs (Nymeria and Lady) and pup (Robbie). She enjoys reading, exercising, playing video games and watching excellent sci-fi shows and movies.
