CREDENTIALS
Dr. Rachel Peterson is a Neuropsychologist and Licensed Psychologist who provides neuropsychological and psychological testing. She earned a Doctor of Psychology in School Psychology from Indiana University. Dr. Peterson completed her psychology internship training in Pediatric Neuropsychology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her two-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology was completed at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Peterson is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Maryland. She holds a Master of Education in Learning Sciences from Indiana University (IU). She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Certificate in Neuroscience from IU.

BACKGROUND
Dr. Peterson’s expertise is in the comprehensive assessment of cognitive and behavioral functions including, but not limited to intelligence, reasoning and problem solving, executive functioning, attention, learning and memory, speech and language, academic skills, perceptual and motor functioning, mood, and behavior. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Peterson’s research focuses on pediatric neurological conditions, particularly neurocognitive and functional outcomes secondary to demographic, disease, and treatment variables.
Her training in neuropsychology provides her with a depth of understanding regarding neuroanatomy, functional implications and manifestations of brain injury, and brain-behavior relationships. Dr. Peterson’s background in school psychology and special education informs her approach to the evaluation process and recommendations for intervention. She is dedicated to helping families better understand their child’s strengths and challenges, and advising them about appropriate interventions to help maximize their child’s potential.
