“My goal as Director of Rebecca Resnik and Associates,” says Dr. Resnik, “Is that everyone we serve receives the excellent care that I want for my own family.” In founding Rebecca Resnik and Associates (the practice, originally founded in 2010, changed name and ownership in 2015) she sought to create a center of clinical excellence, as well as a place where every client is valued as an individual with unique gifts. “Every person we see should leave feeling more hopeful, less stressed, and with a plan in hand for overcoming challenges,” she states.
Dr. Resnik has earned a Doctor of Psychology from The George Washington University. Dr. Resnik completed her psychology internship training in Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. Her Post-Doctoral Residency in Psychological Assessment was completed at Mindwell Psychology in Virginia. Dr. Resnik is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Maryland. She has served as an Expert Witness in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. She also holds a Master of Education in Special Education (concentration in Learning Disabilities) from The University of Maryland at College Park. The Special Education program at UM has been ranked 11th in the country. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education (Cum Laude and with Honors) from UMCP with a concentration in Learning Disabilities.
Dr. Resnik has served as a voting member of the Maryland Psychological Association’s (MPA) Board of Directors, Maryland Psychological Association for six years. In 2017 Dr. Resnik received the Outstanding Volunteer Contribution Award at the MPA State Convention. Dr. Resnik is also a member of The American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (Affiliate Member), the International Mind Brain and Education Society, Exceptional Minds (X-Minds), CHADD, APSARD, International Dyslexia Association, WISER, and Learning Disabilities Association of America/Montgomery County. Her research interests include applications of computational linguistics in clinical psychology. She was co-founder of the first Computational Linguistics and Clinical Psychology workshop, held at the Association for Computational Linguistic’s annual international conference, 2014. She continues to serve as organizer, reviewer and discussant for the Workshop (now in its 6th year). Dr. Resnik served as a Clinical Panel Consultant to for the Jelinek Workshop in Speech and Language Technology at the Johns Hopkins University. She is currently authoring a book chapter on computational linguistics and clinical psychology.
Dr. Resnik is an approved American Psychological Association Continuing Education Provider, which means that she provides advanced training to other psychologists. Dr. Resnik lectures and conducts continuing education for national, state, and local events. In Nov. of 2017, she and Dr. R Patrick Savage were selected to be the Featured Presenters at the Maryland Psychological Association’s Annual State Conference, and conducted a 6 hour Continuing Education Course for psychologists titled Neuropsychological Interpretation of Achievement Tests: The Search for Convergent Validity). She presents at national events such as: South by Southwest 2020 in Austin, Texas, the International Conference on ADHD in Atlanta, Georgia, the Erik Erickson Conference at Austen Riggs Hospital, the Independent Education Consultant Association’s National Conference in DC, the Learning Disabilities Association of America National Conference and at the North American Association for Computational Linguistics Annual Conference.
Dr. Resnik also speaks at local events, including the Montgomery County Administrator’s Annual Leadership Conference, Lab School’s Lecture Series, Cecily’s Advocacy Day Conference, Diamonds in the Rough Special Education Conference, the Computing in Healthcare workshop at Georgetown University, the Norwood School Lecture Series, and for the University of Maryland Autism Research Consortium. Resnik also enjoys speaking for private companies and schools, including Choice Hotels International, the Bullis School, the Auburn School, the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, Holy Trinity School, and Educational Connections Inc.
She has been a guest on podcasts such as Dyslexia Quest, The Testing Psychologist, The Child Repair Guide, The 3M Thought Leaders Podcast and the University of MD Autism Research Consortium podcast.

Dr. Resnik enjoys sharing her love of psychology. Her book, A Family’s First Guide To ADHD, was published in 2016.
Dr. Resnik serves as a Medical Expert for Medhelp for the ADHD and Learning Disability Forums. She has appeared on Fox News, Let’s Talk Live, and Voice of America. Dr. Resnik regularly contributes to articles about psychology and child development. She loves giving professional training/continuing education for psychologists, providing parent education, and conducting teacher training for private schools.
Dr. Resnik is married to a College Professor and resides in Bethesda. She and her husband love raising their two rambunctious boys and two dogs. Dr. Resnik is super proud of her stepson, a recent graduate of Brown University, who works as a Political Strategist and Chief of Staff at Main Street One.
