Dr. Maria J. Hochuli is a clinical neuropsychologist licensed in Maryland (coming soon!) and Colorado. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of adults and older adults with neurological, medical, and psychological conditions. She earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the APA-accredited Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology Program at Widener University, with a specialized training focus in neuropsychology, and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in clinical psychology from Loyola University Maryland. She completed an APA accredited predoctoral internship in neuropsychology through Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, with her clinical training based at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, followed by a two-year APPCN postdoctoral fellowship in adult neuropsychology at Dartmouth Health. Her broader training included neuropsychology externships at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Bancroft NeuroRehab.
Dr. Hochuli has extensive experience evaluating a wide range of adult concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression) and neurodivergence (e.g., ADHD and Autism). She also has advanced training in assessing adults with memory and other cognitive concerns, including mild neurocognitive impairment and dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease), epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke and other vascular conditions, traumatic brain injury, and complex medical and psychiatric presentations (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, chronic pain, schizophrenia spectrum disorders). Her experience also includes neuropsychological evaluation related to deep brain stimulation, epilepsy surgery, transplant, and neuro-oncology, as well as neurodevelopmental conditions in adulthood (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability). She has worked collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across academic medical centers, inpatient psychiatric care, rehabilitation settings, and specialty clinics. In addition to neuropsychological assessment, Dr. Hochuli has training in cognitive rehabilitation and psychotherapy. She is also involved in ongoing research projects related to neuro-oncological practice, cognitive rehabilitation, and mild cognitive impairment, with presentations at national and international conferences.
She brings a thoughtful and individualized approach to her work, considering cognitive findings within the broader context of each person’s medical history, emotional well-being, and everyday life.
