Dr. Sara Squires is a both a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Dr. Squires is an expert in physical changes that come with aging, and highly experienced in seeing patients with acute injury (e.g., recovering from a fall or other injury) as well as chronic conditions (e.g. chronic pain, arthritis). As part of the Resnik Psychology Care Navigation Collaborative, she provides both education sessions and coaching for adults caring for loved ones with medical/health concerns.
In her coaching role, Dr. Squires helps busy professional patients make positive life changes to improve wellness and reduce stress. Her coaching can encompass anything from management strategies for stress, pain, healthy weight management, menopause challenges, sleep, exercise or just improving your relationship with yourself!
If you are caring for an aging loved one, Dr. Squires has decades of expertise to share about conditions such as arthritis, balance issues, chronic pain, recovery from falls, and making living environments as safe as possible.
Dr. Squires can also provide guidance for those managing peri-menopause and menopause. She has completed the Level 1 Certified Hormone Health Coach and recently completed Rachel Rubin’s Hormone Therapy Summer Series. Menopause can come with so many challenges – mood, energy, maintaining muscle mass, libido, skin and hair changes – it can feel overwhelming – especially if you are simultaneously caring for your own nuclear family and aging parents. Dr. Squires can help you navigate all of the information available from evidence-based sources and the social media “wellness gurus.” Coaching is about developing strategies that will help you to make permanent and sustainable change. Dr. Squires is passionate about being here to be your copilot and help you find the individual strategies that will work for you!
Dr. Squires has been a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy for the last 25 years, and has a private practice in Friendship Heights. She graduated from University of Maryland – College Park in 1998 and proceeded to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Southern California in 2001. She became a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach in 2024 after overcoming many personal caregiving challenges. She has been married to her wonderful husband since 2024 and is the proud mother to her son Jackson, a Specialist in the Army currently stationed in South Korea and her amazing stepdaughter who is a rising Freshman at Fairfield University.
