Portrait of Miracle James

Miracle James is a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who was introduced to the mental health field as a teenager, after volunteering as a youth mentor in her local community. During this time, she came to understand the importance of identity and the need for representation in healthcare. She values the intersection of identities and welcomes all, especially those who belong to marginalized communities. In her role as therapist, Miracle utilizes a client centered approach and strives to create a space in which people feel heard, validated, and safe to be their authentic selves. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults to organize and integrate self-care and emotional regulation to help create balance within their lives, for them to thrive and grow. Miracle has experienced working with individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and trauma. Specifically, she enjoys working with children experiencing challenges with behavioral issues, those looking for support with parenting, and adolescents/ young adults who are in the coming of age stage in life. Miracle primarily uses modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy when engaging with clients. Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness are also woven throughout her work.
