Roshontia Haas has been dedicated to supporting the psychosocial needs of clients and their families since she began her career in 2004. She has a deep wealth of experience, both professional and personal, to share with clients caring for loved ones as a team member of the Care Navigation Collaborative.
Roshontia earned her master’s degree in social services, and her master’s degree in law and social policy, from Bryn Mawr College. At Bryn Mawr, she pursued coursework, research, and field experiences aimed at supporting veterans in women’s services, Dementia clinics, hospice programs and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder unit. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Millersville University where she pursued coursework in geriatrics, including aging and the law.
As a social worker, Roshontia has worked with individuals across the lifespan, and of all abilities, in a variety of settings. Her vast experience gives her unique perspectives on all levels of care and how families adapt to a loved one’s changing needs. Roshontia leverages a deep knowledge of the spectrum of care, utilizing her thirteen years in high performing leadership positions. She is committed to serving caregivers and their families as they navigate the medical, ethical, legal, behavioral health, and practical challenges presented by this phase of life.
Roshontia has experience in the following settings:
- Residential and independent living settings designed for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illnesses, and the illnesses of advanced age
- Home Healthcare supporting with individuals receiving in home nursing, physical, occupational, speech, and social work services as they recover from medical conditions or transition to palliative or hospice care at home.
- Behavioral health units in co-located in medical hospitals
- Nursing homes and assisted living facilities, with geriatric individuals receiving long term care to address the challenges of aging (including those diagnosed with dementia).
- Crisis intervention
- Outpatient behavioral health clinics with individuals with serious mental illnesses and severe and persistent mental illnesses
Roshontia lives in Frederick, MD with her teenage daughter, dog, and horse. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in her community, road trips and thrift shopping.
