Group Therapy

Group Therapy

Group therapy is an effective way to solve problems, but it’s also something your child will enjoy.

Here at RRA, we make group therapy a special time for children and teens. We believe in the power of a carefully constructed group, where the power of peers, under the guidance of a talented therapist, helps kids become their best selves. Here at RRA, all therapy groups are led by experienced, fully licensed psychotherapists (no trainees or students).

Group therapy is a good choice for children and teens with the following concerns:

  • Struggles with anxiety, frustration, or other strong feelings
  • Difficulty making or keeping friends
  • Trouble with impulse control or uncooperative behavior
  • Needs to be more flexible and resilient in the face of daily challenges

Group therapy helps children learn new skills in a safe social environment. Working in a group gives them the chance to see that they’re not alone in their struggles. Groups also offer children and teens a safe place to practice what they learn in therapy so they feel confident using their new skills in the “real world.”

Our Directors of Psychotherapy take care to ensure that we understand your goals for helping your child. During our intake process, we match your child up with the right group.
